ok specs are

aw9dmax
conroe6700
corsair 6400 44412 ram

ok so at standard *** ram is running on spd settings 55515 at 667mhz 1,8v. now ram states that it willl run at 44412 800mhz 2.1v. so i set the settings to that pc runs great no problems used for 6 hours of gaming last night no issues. yet when i reboot i get messaage system running in fail safe mode and the ram settings have been put back to normal.

i was wondering could this be because i am trying to run memory timings at 2:3 as i havent overclocked my cpu yet ? or is there something else i am missing.

well sorted this one looks liek my suspiscions were right it dont liek running with memory at 2/3 i over clocked the cpu only slightly though to 3.2ghz. swicthed the memory to its origional 4/5 ratio and now it accepts the memory speeds of 44412 2.1v 800mhz just fine :) running sweet :D

Hi mate I have just got my new system today, I have had a problem with the bios going into failsafe mode and i was not even overclocking it or anything, its a conroe 6600 and abit max same as you, any advice?

So far the settings seem to have stuck after the failsafe but its a little worrying when I hadnt even oc it.

when i built my machine i set the ram to run at the speed it can run wich was 4-4-4-12 2.1v 800mhz nwo to do that i had to change the ratio from 4;5 to 2;3.

now techinally i wasnt overclock i was just making the ram run at the speed it said it could but the bios did not like runing at the 2;3 ratio

what ram have you got ??? and did you change any setting at all in bios did you set a speed for the ram when you installed it if so what did you set ?

I have patriot 2gig 667 ram, it booted fine and when I came to turn off some 3 hours later and power down thats when it went into failsafe mode, each time I load the defaults then set bios from there, everything is running according to spec, the memory is at 667 @ 4:5

I have run 3dmark no probs, I have tried clearing the cmos, I just dont know what to do.

The bios has been updated to the latest one.

check the mem timings in the bios make sure they are set at what the mem is rated to run at also the voltage of the memory.

strangely i ended up solving mine by overclocking the cpu. so problem ended giving me a faster pc to solve it lol.

An update, The pc does not boot at all now! just the mb lights come on, not sure what to do, I have cleared the cmos and still nothing.

By the way my pc has patriot 667 extreme LL 2 gig but the bios ddr2 volts were set to 1.8, does anyone know what the volt specs for this ram is? it seems too low.

Right I have got my pc running ok now @ stock.

I oc my cpu to 2.7ghz and ram 750 with no issues, upon turning off the pc foor a while and then turing back on I get the fail safe option come up, so I saved my default stock settings in the profile 1-5 saved profiles at number 2 this boots fine each time, but when I try to save new settings in 1 or 3 slot so far I get a no boot pc and have to clear cmos grrr, i kknow their are issues on the abit forums, i hope they sort out the bios.

What bios is everyone running? I hear 13 is at beta
