Why does my guitar sound like this?

A quick one that's been bugging me for a while, and I think the answer is down to the wya my guitar is setup, or rather the lack of a proper setup

Using a korg tuner I tune the top e string until it syas all great and in tune.

I then tune the B string until it says all ok, but when I play the 5th fret on the B which should sound the same as an open top, it doesn't

And the tuner shows it's out as well.

Is this normal, or is it down to the way I've set the bridge, I'm just about to have a play to see if that might sort it? It's an Epiphone SG.

Your intonation is out, either search the net for how to fix it (can be a lengthy and annoying process!) or take it to a tech.

If you tune your B string to pitch then play a harmonic at the 12th fret and check it with the tuner and it's out of pitch, then it's definately your intonation.

You'll need a chromatic tuner before you even want to attempt setting up the intonation yourself.
