Why does my IP address keep changing?

Im sorry I know this is a very noob question but Im puzzled as to why my IP address keeps changing? I thought it was a static ip.. meaning it stayed the same, but its changing every time I look on whatsmyipaddress.com

Is this normal?
 
What ISP do you use?

And which IP do you mean is static? The IP assigned to your computer's network card, or your external WAN IP?
 
I am the oposite to you... I havent paid anything and my IP is static, it should be dynamic. I am with BT and they have no idea why my IP is static...

I really don't know what is causing your dynamic IP, you did pay for the static IP, right? Give 'em a call...
 
Im not really bothered tbh, I was just wondering why it keeps changing all the time. Should I be bothered?
 
Yeah with Nildram i think you have to pay an extra 3.50 a month for a static IP.

Basically your IP will change everytime your modem is turned off or the IP lease has expired. Once this has happened you will then pick up another one from the pool. :)
