I can't play any game online, without everyone moaning about my mic.
I can see the speak animation when playing GOW next to my portrait when other people speak.

Is my mic a duff one, or is there something I'm missing.
Turned my volume down all the way, no luck.
Tried muting myself - doesnt work either.

Any suggestions?

I tried all of the above - when setting it to low, I can't actually hear anyone speaking at all.
Just played a co-op game with some random people (tried 3 different people) and nothing worked, couldnt hear them if i turned it down.
Yes I know speakers out loud will cause echo, but that's not it

you dont happen to really be a whiney american boy in disguise do you? because thats what annoys a lot of people.

I'll refrain from retorting sarcastically to this post and give you the benefit of the doubt. I'm probably older than most on Live and deeper voice to boot.
No I'm not a whiney american kid, I dont actually want to talk, just want to listen or be able to join with my real friends when they get online again.

Am I expecting too much from the headset, having used Ventrillo/Teamspeak/Skype/Xfire (high bandwidth) on the PC before.

So far loving live, but voice comms is beyond crap.

Well in that case you could just mute the mic.

Its possible its faulty, never heard of it before though. Your experience is definitely not how its supposed to be, voice chat is pretty damn good on 360 other than the previously mentioned whiny American 11 year olds :D

I have muted the mic - didn't work though :(
Guess I'll try and get hold another one. How are the new Wireless ones?

I think the headsets and the voicecom on live is just poo tbh. the speech is really broken up and the connection to the controller is worse than something you could buy off a popular auction site for 99p from hong kong.

Think i have the same problem as someone was complaining about my mic the other day. Is there no way to use a regular headset from your pc to play the game sfx and voice whilst playing like you would in any other online game such as CSS?

Think what I'll do if im playing with mates, is be on usual PC voice comms while we play 360, as most of them play it on PC monitors.
