Anyone know why my credit card refuses to allow me to order from Overclockers without having to go through a phone verification? It just cost me the £99 2TB deal; I'm getting sick of it, usually it means i miss next day delivery but now its getting beyond a joke.
No other online seller triggers this phone verification system.

IIRC they were flagged a while ago due to being a big target for credit card fraud but this was a good few years ago.

Just did, apparently OC get a lot of orders with stolen details so they check every order.
Still ****ed off that it cost me that hdd. I did flag OC to give me call about it but they don't appear to have done so, no missed call on my phone.

I don't know what you mean by "just" but the deal ended at 9am, assuming there were any left.

Not being flippent, but if it's bugging you that much it might be worth changing banks - or at least opening another account to buy OcUK stuff through? NatWest current and credit cards here, and never been asked for phone confirmation.

We have a lot of fraudsters trying to order from us as we have high value items which is easy to sell on. - If your bank declines, they are usually doing a fraud check, just call them unblock it and then reorder then it should be sorted. Usually happens for large value orders, or if it is Barclays they are quite strict. :)

Thats what i normally do, phone them and tell them to allow the order...the issue was on this occasion the item was on limited sale and by the time i could phone the items were all gone. I'll just need to wait for the next sale.
* not Barclays, HBOS...owners of fine online banking systems with an apparent 50% downtime *
