Why does search in Windows 10 do this?

You type 'Edg' in the search box and you get Edge browser. You type 'Edge' and you don't get Edge browser at all.

Potato. Better ask Microsoft on that one. I have noticed this as well.

Probably because it’s trying to predict what you are going to use rather than giving you what you want with a whole word.

Why?

I typed Edg and Edge and get Edge browser just fine.

Worked fine in version 1909 on VMWare and 2004 on 6 devices.

Maybe your Windows 10 files are corrupted, try run DISM and SFC /scannow to repair it.

I am on build 1803 and when I type edg I get Edge appear in the list (This is a works laptop with updates restricted).
