after seeing my mates 20inch new mac, its screen is so vivid and amazing to look at, anything on it looks better than my 19inch hannsg (yes a hannsg so i know its obviously cheaper)

but do the more expensive tft's like dells and such have that, quality boost?

Im looking to get something in the near future for films and general ness, something either 22 inch or 24 inch, so whats best to look out for?

My ex got the 24" version of the latest imac just before I got my Hyundai 240 TN film screen... the hyundai is better

It's probably your HannsG.

The difference between my old Acer 17" and my Benq 20" is huge (Benq is much better) and once again the difference between my LG 37" and the Benq 20" is massive again, the LG is so much more vibrant and bright.

ahhh, oki coke then :)

one more question:

would a, say 24inch 1900x1200 tft monitor (at a decent price, make etc) be better quality or worse than a similar hdtv with dvi input. Always pondered if its worth buying a tv over a monitor. Cheers!

Well a 1920x1200 is in the range of £300-450 for 24", a you'll need to buy a 37"+ TV that supports 1920x1080 or it's pointless!

Nearly all TV's below 37" only do 1366x768 (Which looks crap on a large screen), Sharp do a 32" 1080P TV but I hear they are around 800 quid making them pretty pointless when you can get 37+ screens for that!

1920x1080 on a screen with 1:1 pixel mapping looks terrific though, but yeah unless you wanna go for a big 37 or above you'll have to go 1920x1200 with a 24", it'll look great either way. :)
