As title really. Whenever the phone rings or someone dials, the internet goes down- I get a message from my router saying Can't Connect to Broadband. I have BT total broadband (not fibreoptic) and a BT HomeHub 3. I have a ADSL filter already.

You need a filter on every phone.

A filter on every phone? Even though there won't be an Adel cable using it? Interesting because the phone we use the most is in the room without the filter.

Seems kind of obvious really. I might replace the 10+ year old filter on phone 1 too

Thqnks for the advice!

Yes, a filter on EVERY phone. ADSL is actually unfiltered...

Either a filter on each extension, or use a filtered faceplate.

Using a faceplate will pre-filter the ADSL signal meaning you won't need a dongle on each extension, but will also mean you're stuck having your modem at the master socket without a modified faceplate.

But.... If you still get problems with the phone cutting the broadband off, then you have a HR fault, or high resistance fault caused by water in the joint of the copper line that serves you.

If you do end up getting an engineer sent out, tell them this and they can easily fix it :)
