I suspect experience has shown motorists that Lycra clad cyclists on racing style bikes are the two wheeled equivalent of the boy racer in the appallingly modified Peugeot 205 when it comes to how they use the public highways. I have yet to see anyone with a felt hat and a shopping basket on the handlebars of their venerable steed behave in quite the same way as those on the more flamboyant machines dressed for the Tour de France. As I can drive from home to the suburbs of Manchester 50 miles away only encountering three sets of traffic lights I doubt I regularly see the worst of it either
wow this thread is really descending now, it was never high brow conversation but it seems we've reached the realms of random insult chucking as opposed to properly discussing points of view
