Right, why was the thread deleted?

I want to know why Foo Fighters comes up whenever I put a 360 disc into my PC, in this example I used my retail version of PGR4. (Not that I mentioned piracy in the last thread to begin with FFS)

Basically when a 360 disc is put into my PC WMP pops up with a Foo Fighters track in the now playing pane, it happens with any 360 disc for some reason, anybody have any clue why this is?

I don't have any Foo Fighters on my PC and this has happened across multiple installations of Windows, just thought I'd see if anybody else noticed this strange thing.

Edit: It comes up in WMP a short movie about how this disc must be put into a Xbox 360 console, then in the now playing pane it also says Foo Fighters above the video track.

Windows detects the 360 as a media player if its attached to your network, that foo fighters song must be on the 360's hard drive, find it and delete it :p

Really? I don't have my 360 connected to the PC, well I do but it's not setup as an extender or anything.

My 360 is turned off atm and look at this!

Thats wierd - and im with you about the deletion of threads, they just dissapear and nobody says anything. I seem to remember one being deleted about an offer in a supermarket - when the supermarket wasnt named, and 8 or so page thread got deleted. Do ocuk really think theyre going to loose some business on some console games they dont even sell?

Calm down Margaret :p (has this gotten old yet?)

Maybe it's some form of evil, underhanded marketing campaign that Microsoft has enacted?

[EDIT] And yes, i had one of my posts deleted eons ago, it didn't bother me that it was deleted, but it did bother me that i didn't have a clue why, it would be nice to just get an email explaining what we did wrong.

[EDIT2] I find it rather interesting that when i google 'xbox 360 disk PC foo fighters' i get a shed load of links to buy the new foo fighters album and nothing else.

It happens on most games, when I put Gears of War in some NBA stuff comes up instead of Foo Fighters!

wtf, just put my GOW disc in the PC and yeah... NBA : Furious Finishes is on the playlist
it doesnt actually play anything NBA related though

PGR4 gives me the foo fighters stuff, same for mass effect. weird :p

I get foo fighters when using my NG2 disc here, might be dependant on the publisher for each disc.

Does it do the same thing if you're not connected to the net on your PC? Maybe it's windows media player trying to identify the disc via some key or hash that happens to match an entry for foo fighters on a database.
