Why doesn't a third party release these controller?

Personally I would love the bottom one if I get another 360, but I know many, many more people on these forums would like something like the top one for their PS3's.

Surely third party peripheral makers are missing the boat here!!!

Let's not turn this into a discussion about which controller is better, as it's quite clear that it's down to personal preference. But the 360 pad does suck and the DS3 is the greatest controller EVER!

Well Logitech make similar looking controllers as both the above for the PC - they are just different enough to avoid legal action. Why couldn't they make them for consoles as well?

I would happily use a 360 controller on my PS3. Seeing as the PS3 controllers suck balls.

I don't see why anyone would ever sacrifice the 360 pads ergonomics for the six axis design , stick placement and triggers so I doubt there's any demand for that which is why no one's done it yet. No idea why the 360 pad for ps3 hasn't been done yet though.

Well obviousley someone prefered the DS3 to the 360 pad otherwise why would they have bothered modding it? See second photo

Like I say it's personal preference, although I do agree that more people seem to prefer the 360 pad but that doesn't mean there isn't a market for the DS3 style on 360.

Thought we had established previously that preference was down to how you actually grip the controller. If you grip it losely then the PS pad is quite comfy whereas if you are a tight fisted gripper then the 360 is more moulded to your grip and therefore more comfortable

Now let that be the end of it you heathens - the PS controller shalt not be bettered my man nor the gods of man in my humble opinion.

PS - I would just like to say after using my DS3 a lot lately thanks to MGS4 it does become a lot easier to use, I still prefer the 360 pad but don't hate the PS3 pad quite as much as I used to

Because sony are a Japanese company and develop their controllers in the typically blind Japanese fashion of neglecting everyone outside of Japan with normal sized hands. The PS3 pad is horrible for any men with normal/large hands.

Really? I must be some sort of freak then because I'm 6' 2" and all in proportion (I mean my hands) and I find it very comfortable!!!

I still beleive it's down to the way individuals naturally hold the controller. Some hold with fingertips like me (same way I hold my mouse which is why I never got on with the Logitech gaming mice and prefer the Razer ones), and some tend to grip the controller which would make the weight and shape of the 360 controller more comfortable.

I think all the people who are complaining about the PS3 pad are just tards and need lessons in how to use it properly - a good worker never blames his tools etc.
