ok so i have

Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz (Sandybridge)
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz
Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard ** B3 REVISION **

if i use Asus AI Suit 2 to overclock my CPU it just keeps restarting when i power on until it eventually kicks into life then its only a matter of time until i get a F1 error on boot telling me Overclock has failed.
If i use the Bios to change RAM speed from 1333 to 1600 it does muliple reboots on start up until i finally get the same F1 error.

Any ideas? surely it can only be the board or the ram or maybe both??

P.S i dont manually input the settings i just use the auto tune function on AI suit and it seems to work, until the next power up.

I don't like the Auto Tune, and I've heard plenty of reports of weird settings it produces. Also, it doesn't save settings to the BIOS, so it won't persist past shut down.

You're better off overclocking yourself, and from the BIOS rather than from AI Suite (which is extremely flaky in terms of voltages, and has very limited settings).

Try setting your profile to XMP (if your RAM supports it, or manually setting your rated RAM speed, volts and timings if not), then for a first step try upping the turbo multiplier (by all cores) to 40 for a 4GHz clock on auto volts, save and see how that works out.

If that goes okay, you can then start the process of tweaking and testing further overclocks.
