right... I'm editing a site for a company, but i have a few questions about some stuff i havn't come across before:

http://www.cursorcontrols.com

• the site, as you will see, has a rolling image ran by some javascript, it seems simple enough but my problem is it only runs on the original server  - if i download the ENTIRE site and then run it locally the javascript changing image is nowhere to be seen... any ideas? i need this to be in place becuase when i upload to a temporary place to show the changes it needs to be there (it also doesn't work if i upload my completely unedited version onto the temporary web server)

i will just add that yes i have checked that the linked .js file is present and complete and all other files mentioned are all where they should be so yes the whole lot did download correctly from the server... _vti_ rubbish an'all :D

• secondly, the server is CRAMMED full of .LCK, .MNO and .BAK files - am i right in thinking these are dynamic files that are perfectly fine to delete?

many thanks peeps :)

i thought of that but that path isn't absolute is it? its relative to wherever/images... etc

i may well be missing the point as to what you mean by absolute but i see no reason why that wouldn't work for me cuz i have the whole directory structure mentioned saved locally

dont wanna seem like i'm whining on about this but i've been playing with it for the last 45 minutes and as far as i can see there is absolutely NO reason for it not to be working... its causing some right grief :( - could someone have a quick look for me?

dooooooood...

where do i send the cheque :D

i can't believe all the years i've been into computers and i never knew that "/xyz/" is different to "xyz/"

all fixed... flabergasted  - but happy :)
