Just been thinking about the Carson transfer and the general transfer rumours that are kicking off left right and centre...why are other clubs not very interested in English players?

There wasn't - as far as i know anyways - any other clubs from outside of England interested in Carroll, Phil Jones, Charlie Adam, Downing or anyone really that has just moved or might be moving...

There is always talk of English clubs wanting so and so from a Spanish/Italian/French/German/etc but not the other way around...

Why is that? :o

Just googled Nicky Butt and his South China career...

From Wiki.

South China

On 6 November 2010, the chairman of Hong Kong club South China, Steven Lo, said that the club expected Butt to sign for them at the end of the month.[12] Butt signed for South China on 22 November. His first match was against TSW Pegasus in a 2–1 win for South China. Butt scored from a freekick during this game but also embarrasingly missed a penalty.[13] He went back to UK right after the game. He came back to Hong Kong in mid January 2011. His second match with South China was against Tai Po FC in a 0-1 defeat on 29 January 2011. Mateja Kežman also debuted for South China in the same match. Butt received his first red card against rivals Kitchee in a league match which later prove to be crucial in deciding the league title. Butt left South China and returned England in May 2011.

5 appearances, 1 goal...not a bad ratio. :p
