I've just read an article and apparently tons of people are annoyed and want to boycott the release of Absolution or something to that extent.

Why? Over-sexualized women getting beaten and/or killed is nothing new in the video game industry whatsoever, its been happening since the 80's. 47 was hardly brutal, he did what it took to kill each and every one of them, it's not like he was tearing their intestines out and ripping off their heads. Was it because they were posing as nuns to begin with?
If a new fantasy game trailer emerged tomorrow of some guy slaughtering a bunch of Spartan's or something, nobody would complain that a group of semi naked men were being cut to pieces? It'd no doubt be more brutal too.
I really don't understand it, is it just enraged fans annoyed at how Hitman is 'degrading' itself or whatever? Really? Have they never played a Hitman game before? 47 has always been completely surrounded in semi naked women since day one, and why? It's not just to cheaply use the theory that sex sells, it is actually a really interesting way of showing exactly how unhuman and emotionally non existent 47 actually is, as not only does he show no interest whatsoever in anything or anyone sexually or romantically, but when he saved a Chinese woman in Hitman Codename 47, she kissed him and he was absolutely repulsed by it.
So I doubt its loyal fans, unless Hitman has started to open its doors to the masses and its a bunch of blind pseudo-fans. The last thing I personally want is a game I grew up with getting associated with those kind of people, Resident Evil has done that enough thank you.
If it has offended you, can you at least explain why?
