Why have you been a member for so long?

Just looking at my postcount I was wondering one simple question...

*dramatic pause*

why do some of the longstanding members here stay remain here so long? I've been using this forum for a long time and I don't know why? Perhaps it's just that its very often high quality, and I've not been given a reason to leave.

Been here before 2000 at least,

Pre pre nuke (forgot how many pre's)

Erm, because one of the other UK competitors drowned, the others are around are good but for different things. Some US forums etc are good, but then its easier speaking to your own people...

But I think it was more to do with the OcUK theme, and posting style (at the time). Not so much now, more of a habit. Such as picking my nose etc.

Because sometimes there's a thread on here that makes me laugh so much I remember why I joined in the first place.

I've stayed on here so long because I like the different from any other posting style, the members ans it's just a great forum.

It's something to use to pass the time, i'm not gonna leave i'll just not post for a bit then start posting again and then stop etc...

No, it means I've had internet access at a few of the jobs I've done in the last few years

Initially its cos it passed the time at work, especially on nights. Then its cos I'm comfortable here and it has a Sports forum.

And I get to nuke people.

I'm on here because the people are far more interesting and mature than other forums, they "get out" and do stuff, and it generally makes for interesting conversation / reading.

There are also so many posts that if you have a free hour or need an expert on something there will always be something here.

first forum I've ever spent an extended amount of time on, somewhat unique and as above some of the threads are just laugh out loud funny

Ummm...addiction more than anything else, plus the fact that I can be useful.

It started out with a most definate family fell rather than an online forum although that has been on the decline unfortunetly

Forgive me for all this introspective ****, I've just been doing psychotherapy all day and I'm still trying to order it in my head.

I personally think I am partly sad because I get such thrills for OcUK forum. But on the other hand OcUK has been useful, and has even lead to some quite cool stuff in real life.
