I just got HD5850 saphire vesion. And I was wondering why others got HD5850 over other cards?

I mean I clearly have a reason but would not mind hearing yours!

Also post test scores HD5850 against others!

Is Saphire version just weaker than other hd5850's alteast txh?

I'll probably be going 5850, for he pure and simple reason that I can't justify £100 extra on a 5870, and it's bound to be cheaper than Fermi

Still waiting until Fermi though :p

well people need a decent upgrade from say an 8800gt- or so. but img onna wait for fermi, but first getin core i5

The main pull for me of the 58** series is the low idle power consumption, its a fast card also and has dx11 on but it was the low idle power that made my decision.

well i came from a 4870 to a 5870 and the differences in my games are noticable.

I picked which ever was in stock.. in this case, i got two XFX 5850's. They're all pretty much the same card at the moment.

I impulse bought a VTX because I had a crap week and OCUK had 5 in stock on the Friday so I grabbed one before they all disappeared.

Why would the Saphire version be weaker, I mean all the 3rd party manufacturer does is stick a label on it. Saphire cards come off the same production line as all the others.

I got the Sapphire cause it was in stock and at least it has a decent warranty and came with all the extra bits.

For those reasons I wouldn't have got a powercolor.
