Just wanted to say a big thanks
I built my own PC for the first time about 2 years ago (O/C) was something i had very little knowledge on before
Thanks to all the help on the forum i managed to put together the beast without to much fuss and get a nice stable 3.8 GHZ on my old dual core
Times moved on since then and at the 2 year mark, i felt the old dual despie having choopmed through everything thrown at it, was looking a little long in the tooth and needed replacement with a quad, while i was at i thought i'd do the G card too as good though the 280 i bought was i found very good, but i reckon the next 18 months will need a slightly quicker card to keep those frames nice and smooth and a 470 was on OC UK for about 230 quid which was just 20 more than i paid for my 280 so i jumped on it
Again this was my first upgrade and other than nearly frying my CPU thanks to a less than perfect cpu/cooler contact i now got the card fitted and the Q9650 at 3,8 which should keep me going strong another 18 months when i can then do a full refresh and probably get sandybridge or whatever the hell there calling it!
Anyways i just wanted to post what a great forum this was, i'm a occasional poster/lurker but this is by far the best computer forum i ever been on (admittedly i not been on many
, your get help almost straight away and there's loads of knowledge stored up too
