Why is my IB 3770K Running at this Speed?

Hi guys

Running IB 3770k with Z77X-UD5H Mobo and 16GB RAM (4X4GB sticks)

CPU and RAM running at these speeds?

EFI/BIOS won't let me change CPU settings

Any ideas?

Speed step and your RAM is running a 1333MHZ default.

Intel speed step, clocks down the CPU when at idle. Run something like prime95 to put the CPU on load and it will step up the frequency.

As for the RAM, it's DDR (Double Data Rate). So it's actually running at 666.6*2=1333mhz. If the RAM is suppose to run at 1600mhz, try find a XMP setting in the BIOS and enable it there.

I was advised by forum members to update EFI/BIOS to the latest version, I updated to latest official F7 and updated latest Firmware on my SSD

As a result I am unable to change any of the CPU settings in EFI/BIOS in MIT advanced mode

Although the slider in 3D mode works, any changed setting will not save

Any Ideas guys?

You can disable speed step if you wish. See if there is an option to do so in your BIOS.
