Why is Amd not announcing anything

I guess no ones bothered looking at the slides from SK Hynix themselves that confirmed 8gb vram is very possible on a 4 stack of gen1 HBM? Also that above article once again is 99% speculation from the author

8GB is possible and people have looked but everything is pointing to gen 1 coming with 4GB 'for now' Hopefully that is wrong and 8GB is a given.

Why is everything pointing at 4gb? I have seen nothing from AMD that points at 4gb? However I have seen a million articles speculating 4gb.

I hope it's 8gb, if it's 4 my cash is staying in my pocket for another year and if AMD is still in business next year then I will see the lay of the land. I refuse to pay Nvidias hiked up prices but I also want a proper upgrade from my 290, not a new version of it with better memory, I'm moving to 1440 this year so need more fire power :) maybe another 290 Tri-x

AMD have spent to long worrying about what Nvidia are doing, they need to look at their own product range and try and get back some market share. Which hopefully the 390X will be a beast and cheap.

Looking back I would say it has all the appearance that the company is attempting to sell itself.. just enough to be attractive but nothing that costs lots of money..

LOL @ wccf and their catchphrase "we exclusively revealed to you earlier". You spewed the same forum speculation as the other hack churn sites. They're like that Indian guy in the video talking a mile a minute about how he "predicted this" and "told us that" when in fact he's just a kid in a basement.

Here's something from kitguru about Computex and AMD saying no to rebrands:

“We are confident that as we get into the second half of 2015 with the launch of that [new graphics] product, we will gain back the market share which is low from my standpoint and historically,” said Devinder Kumar, chief financial officer of AMD.

But that isn't good, the 2nd half of 2015 is a long time yet

*snip* Their Mantle project failed so they don't want to make too much of a song and dance about that.

No Mantle didnt fail. AMD gave it to the Kronos group and now we have vulkan or what ever that thing is called. Also i would be supprised if we would even have directx 12 in its current state slated for windows 10 at all if it were not for mantle. So i would say that Mantle did what it was set out to do.

Is what Mantle has done a good thing, I would say yes it is.

Has Mantle done what they set out to do, I would say definitely not, you don't go round telling everyone that there will be a public SDK by the end of the year if you never intended to release one in the first place.

Ugh, intent? How are you going to prove that? Also there is no need for an SDK now.
