That's as Wales doesn't even exist independent of England. Traditionally the best welsh teams have competed in the Football League.

No no, the question is.... Would you like it? The normal answer you'd say is "i wouldn't care tbh", when in truth the English FA and the commercial aspect are the biggest whiners when you crash out of competitions... So England would be up in arms if we'd have had "Wales" posted everywhere in England if you weren't in the world cup and wales were.

You hare hardly "forced"... if you aren't interested then don't pay attention to it in the first place. And yes it really is that easy.

I'm currently living and working in The Netherlands and all their orange flags and such started to appear strung around the street a few weeks back... this was my first reminder of how close the World Cup actually is! Honestly I am so into football that I had completely forgotten the World Cup was coming up anyway :p.

I'm Welsh as well and I can't say the football stuff has ever bothered me either(possibly as I have always been quite Rugby orientated), good luck to em anyway, though it isn't like they will win so it will all die down soon.

No. The thing is, we wouldn't care. Englishmen already won first prize in the game of life why would we care? I'm reasonably sure if Wales were in the World Cup and England weren't, the majority of English would support Wales. I certainly would.

You have to remember the disdain in the Union is not at the behest of the English people. Given things like the West Lothian question, and devolution, you should really learn to STFU and know your place - as members of the Union.

The Original question's wasn't about my "Anglophobia" it was about why does Mars feel the need to saturate the rest of the country with English flags and lions? Replies here brought the "Jealous, Anglophobia etc" words into it. Another perfect example of how you dont see passed your own "patriotism"... It seems (and you can argue about this all you like).... If you talk about patriotism why aren’t you listening to the rest of the UK? You dont support Wales view's so we wont support yours.... I find it quite funny how you ask me to apologies just another example of your ignorance.

You have created a circular argument. I have documented - with references - why Wales (and the others) are so apposed to the English position on things (specifically a joint football team). I have considered the Welsh view - equally. Something I shouldn't even need to do given Wales is a part of England, and the UK, and Englands form 90% of the UK. I suggest you look up ignorance in a dictionary.

Actually I doubt that very much. The kind of short-sighted Nationalism you are spewing here is predominantly a minority sport, and the majority of people in England couldn't care less, in fact would get behind any UK team if their own was not included, as has been the case in the past with Rugby IIRC. The fact is your views are only shared by a very small minority of what is a small minorty to begin with, so hardly warrent any serious consideration.

You are just using this as justification to have a 'pop' at the English, so don't pretend otherwise, you are far too transparent.:o

If thats the case why havn't we got a nation team, i know there's no UK FA... the world cup is a let down for other countries i the UK.

Another perfect example is England Cricket..... you have British players yet its still called England cricket team with the 3 lion's on the shirt... Another one: the union jack flag has no reference to Wales in there... yet you sit there and tell me to look up on my facts? If you got off your high and mighty stool and look at how the rest of the UK is treated at the hands on "England" you too would feel a little animosity.

If i dont reply i havn't run off crying like the sun news paper would if england lost on pen's its because i have an appointment.

He doesn't support your views, to say they are the views of the Welsh people is disingenous. You are the ignorant here with your anglophobic vitriol you attempt to hide with a sheen of reason, unsuccessfully I might add.:o
