I don't think anyone's hating on it. It's just a first attempt which has issues, drivers needed a lot of work and still do, e.g. Starfield just came out and doesn't even run on ARC. Hardware isn't anything special either. That isn't hate, just facts. I live in hope that future releases will be better, such that they're viable options for ppl who don't want to pay nvidia/amd prices.

That is the great thing about them, the price. The A770 looks like it does 4k with no trouble. That vid. from 8 months back, heplayed some games at 4k, looked good IMO. I am looking at a 4k monitor, fora clearer picture at 32". 1440p seems a little hard the read at times. Does it handle Mortal Online 2? I am waiting for Battlemage. If my current card will do 4k good, I can hold of on a better GPU. By the specs at the EVGA site, it can do 4k at 120Hz. That is fine with me.

The Arc cards are superior (feature wise) to RDNA 2, tbh. At this point, I'd take the A750 over a RX 6600, but not a RX 7600.

A770 is a harder sell, the 16GB version is pretty expensive, but Arc definitely scales well, reviews have shown that consistently where it gains ground at higher resolutions.

That said, it still struggles to best a 6700 XT (except with RT/upscaling) and you can get one cheaper. The 8GB version is in a weird place.

Intel have stopped producing their 16 GB A770; Sparkle have launched a cheap ($299 / £299) 16 GB A770.

Hardware Unboxed massively hated the A7xx GPUs at the start.

Yes, I can benchtest some newer games like Horizon Zero Dawn at 4k native on medium settings and get 50-60 fps.

Personally the only thing that would stop me buying an Intel GPU is the possibility they might just say we aren't doing this anymore as it's not profitable (for example). Intel had a history of killing interesting products. A GPU is nothing but a paperweight without driver support

And it's that attitude that is so damaging and does so much to ensure that there won't be a third GPU manufacturer.

Intel have got deep enough pockets to do a few gens and prove they're in it for more than a round or two. Given Intel's past I wouldn't be buying in until they've proven a long term commitment and step up on the software side.

Starfield release is a worry, non functioning at release with possibly the largest release of the year doesn't look good.

Never really rated Intel in cpu/gpu departments…

Driver issues mostly. But to be fair to them they are rolling out regular updates to fix issues.

I'm certainly going to be keeping an eye on Battlemage, if it's powerful enough and is at a decent price, I might jump on it for my new build.
