Why can people not fill up their cars without getting diesel allover the place?

Every single time without fail no matter what fuel station i go to theres always fuel allover the pump nozzle/handle :(

I don't have this problem when filling up with petrol, only diesel.

It's a right pain in the arse if i'm going out or to work as it takes ages to get the smell off your hands.

ive only ever filled up a petrol, whats the difference when filling up, does it come out differently or something? (apart from it been diesel obviously)

I fill up with both petrol & diesel, i never get it allover the pump or spill any of either allover the place both to me seem the same, apart from i always end up with someone elses spillage allover my hands after filling up with diesel.

Now when filling up with veg oil, that can be messy, but thats a bit harder to get into the tank in 3 Litre bottles. :D

different cars i trust? =D

lol, yep. I aint made the wrong fuel mistake yet.

Capri 2.8i & Rover 220SD

They should put sensors in the pump handle & if anyone gets any diesel on the handle it should give them a mild electric shock, that'd make 'em more careful.

did you think that through? like... at all?

Yes, once it's happened a few times & made the news about people blowing themselves up then in future all diesel users would handle the pumps like a live grenade with a dodgy pin.

No more mess :)
