Why is Google Maps so slow?

I can stream 4k Youtube vids fine but Google maps takes 30-40 secs to load, its infuriating!

Think they have updated it to newer web development technologies, and to be honest, its complete pants, laggy, buggy.

Are you using Chrome? It's working better than ever for me with everything loading instantly, even when zooming in.

Of course it would work fine

It become seriously pants in firefox, about managable in IE, I dont use Chrome on my laptop

its a few seconds faster in Chrome but still laggy, especially streetview

Fine here in IE, FF & Chrome. Everything loads in under a second.

Fine fine here with IE 11, Chrome on PC, Chrome on ipod touch 5G and Chrome on Galaxy S5.

Try close browser and clear from memory then launch browser or reboot your modem/router could fix it?

I find it intermittent sometimes it lags for ages other times fairly quick though its never quite as fast as I'd like.
