Why is my chrome so slow nowadays

Hey guys,

I have been using google chrome for some years now and remember when I first got it I was blown away by how blazingly fast it was compared to everything else I had used. I have grown fond of it and it's layout but am starting to notice compared to stuff like edge it's just so slow. For example when trying to load this wallpaper website on chrome it takes about 15 seconds per page to load enough so that I can press the resolution drop down box and get a list of resolutions to filter by. On edge this is absolutely instant and makes me not want to use chrome due to how slow it is. Even these forums take about 5 seconds to load each page on chrome yet are instant on edge.

The problem is I hate the layout on edge and wish it looked more like chrome anyone have any suggestions

Have you got Adblock in Chrome? It seems to be that which is slowing the page loading.

i usse origin block much snappier than the bloat that is adblock

I will try now without adblock

I had turned everything else off but as far as I was concerned adblock was a must but didn't know there were better alternatives.

Just put on uBlock origin ad blocker and yeah it was definitely adblock that was slowing me down. Thanks so much lads

I found ublock broke too many pages for me, went back to Adblock Plus

If i have similar issues il look at other alternatives. Last resort will be edge but for now my chrome does seem a lot better.

2 seconds to load the uncached page using Chrome.

Any difference when you use incognito mode?
