why is my cpu @ 3.7 ghz

i have an AMD phenom II 965 black edition it should be 3.4 ghz but in the bios it says 3.7 is this good or bad very new to this XD

im not sure i saw that turbo boost option is it worth turning it on? or will it damage my cpu?

I think blacblu meant is your cpu running in turbo which ups the multi slightly to give you a speed boost. It wont harm anything. It will only jump up to 3.7ghz when under load.

Quad core CPU's such as the 965BE dont feature the Turbo feature that the Hex core CPU's do.*
