Why is my D5 so loud?

Hey everyone, just put my loop back together today. It has a Aqua Computer D5 Pump, The fan's are running at 200rpm and are silent, I cannot hear them at all. The pump however when running at 100% is very very audible, even turning it down to 30% I can still hear it clearly and it is by far the loudest thing in my PC, it is making what I would describe as a loud humming noise. The pump is attached to a heatkiller reservoir, which is mounted to the case on a decoupling stand with rubber feet. Pic below of setup:

Looks to be pretty overkill in terms of raddage. Is that 2x360’s and 3x560’s?

Most likely caused by your pump res combo. I’d drain your loop and detach it, rebuild it and test close to the sink until you’re happy with the noise levels.

Rads are 3 x 480's, 1 x 360 and 1 x 120.

Also what do you mean by caused by the pump / res combo? Are you saying that it is due to the products in my build. Not following what rebuilding it close to the sink would achieve?

I assume me mean checking how tightly screwed the res is to the pump. Over tightening can cause your pumps to be noisier than they should be.

What program do you have monitoring your pump rpm, you using the bios or HWinfo.
If you have an asus board have a look at ai suite, you can use fan expert there to check.
Depending on your pump there may be like a dial at the bottom you can turn and set to like 5 different settings.
Running the loop out of the case and by the sink will enable you to twist and turn parts to get any air bubbles out. You may have air in the pump itself.
What kind of noise is it? a whine? A droning sound?
you can check if the rubber seals are properly aligned with the pump and reservoir, and also if you end up taking the pump out, see if there is any debris under the impellor which is the centre piece that spins.
I've never had an issue with either of my d5's and 1 of them is 6 years old.
If it is a resonance issue with the pump mount and case you can try foam pads to dampen it too
Edit: Unscrew the res combo and hold it up off the case and see if it makes as much noise. The benefits of soft tubing ;)

Is it a PWM pump? My AC D5 (not PWM, manual control) is absolutely silent at about 1/3 power. Definitely not something right, first thing I would do is loosen one of the ports on the top of the reservoir to see if it needs bleeding air.

I've never had a noisy D5.

Make sure its isolated from the case with dampers/foam and that should be it once any air pockets are removed.

Also, no reason to run it at 100% apart from the initial fill to force large air pockets through the loop, then turn it down to 25% / 33% .

I would make sure there isn't any significant air bubbles, as mentioned before. Also the mounting for the pump. If all ok, try to find the % your pump is quiet, and yet, still produce enough flow for your system, considering all the rads.
Every D5 pump I owned, quite few to be honest, were "unique". My actual EK PWM G2 is dead quiet at 50%. Acceptable at 100%. But would produce the annoying humming sound at 60, 70, 80 or 90%, as would at 30 and 40. Won't at 20%, but then the flowrate would really cripple my performance.
