When I got max dsl I was getting around a 5.5 mb connection even though I was synced at 7600kb, I'm still synced at that but the connection is now around a 0.5mb connection

Noise margin 11.7 20.0

Output power 19.7 11.9

Attenuation 32.0 20.0

Thats my Db status from my Belkin router.

Sounds like a faulty BRAS profile, if you are sure the sync speed is still ok. BRAS is a speed profile which says how fast you can actually download at, irrespective of sync speed.

It could be your ISP is just slow however, so you should do some tests.

Use the BT Speedtest domain to see how your speed is while removing your ISP from the loop: http://www.zensupport.co.uk/knowledgebase/article.aspx?id=10383

If your speed using this test is still very slow, then IIRC its a BRAS problem :)

No, it's bad. Contact your ISP and get them to push it as a fault. They'll want you to run BT Speedtests at different times of the day though.

You don't remember correctly.
If you get a low speedtest from the BT tester, the problem isn't with the ISP. That's about as meaningful as it gets.

I've just had a thought, with BT if you go over your 20gb cap they slow your connection down to something silly, so I'm thinking I could have gone into that but if I run that speed tester then it shouldn't make a difference should it?

Oh, is the BRAS on the ISP side then? I thought it was on the BT side, so would effect even the BT Speedtest login?

No, and it is. It doesn't mean a low BT Speedtest result is an issue with the BRAS limit.
