got a WRT54G router attached to my SB4100 cable modem and am on VM 10mb connection.
Wireless signal strength is telling me "Excellent"
But.. download speeds are rubbish (tried using gamefiles at blueyonder and several software speed tests)
But if i take the router out of the equation and connect the SB4100 directly to the PC via cable then the download speeds are nearing the full 10mb connection.
Anyone any idea why my router would be causing this problem? and what I can do about it. Only really use it as a firewall now - but would like to keep some kind of hardare security between internet and PC
Have tried resetting router and even upgraded firmware
help !!!!
