Every now and then I will be playing a game and I approach a darker area of a first person level and suddenly the screen goes blank, but then if I walk my character backwards then back comes the level into view. It happens on more or less all fps games - all id games - all unreals - fallouts etc you name it and it is just like the monitor switched off, but hasn't switched off because one step backwards is enough to bring the display back
I feel certain that I should have heard of this, but I have googled it only to find people who have their screens switching off and that isn't my problem because like I say I can walk the character back and the level comes back into view.
Outside games I can see the same effect occasionally with videos in WMP and VLC that will suddenly disappear, or Youtube in full screen doing the same until I type ESC and back comes the video I was watching.
Anybody got a clue what causes this, only I have never encountered this sort of thing happening before and just recently it is becoming really annoying.
Monitor is a Asus VE228HR 21.5" and card is a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 2GB PCI-E 3.0 HDMI OC Windforce
