why is my steam cod 4 getting a major update

it's downloading a update apparently it's 1,480.9MB update what the hell is going on is anyone else getting this or is my system messed up and it's re-downloading the game?

The chances that an update was released for MW alone, never mind it being for free, are so slim as to be nothing. So yeah it was a screw up.
