I have a custom-built Windows 10 PC with Tp-link ac1300 High Gain USB 3.0 Adaptor for Wifi, and the internet download speed is only 36.8 MB when I check it on the internet download speed on Google. But on my M1 MacBook Air, the download speed is 177MB. I checked to see on my Windows PC to see if anything in the background was downloading, but nothing was downloading. I updated the drivers and still nothing. Both computers are in the same range as the modem. I'm also downloading the files to the SAMSUNG 990 PRO SSD.

I even changed the Tp-Link Ac 1300 to a Gigabyte 11ac Intel Wireless PCIe WIFI and Bluetooth 4.2 Card- GC-WB867D, and it's the same issue: download speed is slow.

What's causing slow download speed on my Windows PC?

Edit: forgot to add my PC spec

Intel 6700K at 4.4ghz
ASUS MAXIMUS VIII GENE M-ATX Motherboard
16GB DDR4 Ram
ASUS Nvidia 3060 12gb
Samsung 990 Pro 1Tb SSD

Edit 2: I wiped off Windows 10 and reinstalled it. Same issue. I checked the download speed on my iPhone and Xbox One, and it's the same as my MacBook Air.

So I manage to figure and out why. I changed setting by going to Device Manager>Network Adaptor>TP link AC 1300> going to Value section and changing it from Auto to “IEEE to 802.11ac”. It worked like a charm. Downloaded GTA 5 on Steam at 140mbs
