I have a Gigabyte Brix box that i use as a media device, i have an Asus RT-N56U router using the Google Custom FW. Im trying to wirelessly transfer some file overs from my Windows 8 PC to the Brix, but im transfer speeds seem very slow, i getting approx 1.85 MB/s. At this speed its going to take days to transfer all the files. Should i be getting faster speeds than this?

1.85MB/s is pretty fast for WiFi IMO. What is the WiFi connection's link speed?

Edit: sorry it's not fast for WiFi don't know what I was thinking :p

That explains it...

Wireless isn't really made for large data transfers.

Check the signal strength that each device is getting, Google it if you can't see where..

Network connections, properties, something like that.

Im getting full strength the devices are only like 5 meters apart. I should be getting more that 1.5MB/s speeds though shouldnt i?

What speed full strength though?

Wireless isn't as exact as cabled.

Try using an ethernet cable between your pc and the router, then try again to compare.

Only thing you can try really is update drivers.

Maybe run inSSIDer to see if it's a dirty wireless channel, if so, change the channel on the router.
