Why is Res4 sold nowhere?

I was seriously toying with the idea of getting this; the only thing putting me off is I have never played any of the other parts (my bad I know :p although I have seen the two films but I doubt that counts).

Will it make much sense story wise if I do get it?
It's a very different game to the true resident evils, and you don't need to have played the old ones at all. :)

Whilst re4 is quite seperate from the rest of the series, playing the previous games will help you to grasp the story line more and you get to know the background of a few of the characters e.g leon, ada, wesker

It doesn't tie in that strongly so playing RE4 doesn't make you miss out on much.

I do recommend playing them all in chronological (not numerical) order though for the complete story.

Er... we can't tell you.

Google will tell you what game store has a student discount though

Cheers for the replies, I guess I can catch up on the story via wiki :D

Will probably get it this weekend - if it hasn't sold out!

There's no need, just buy the GC games for about £6 each second hand. A much better way to do it :)
