Why is the Steam app so horrible?

Hi all

Why is the Steam app so slow and janky when browsing through the store, forums, DLC etc? If I go to the webpage, it works beautifully but the app is a steaming pile of something in comparison.

Does anyone know if Steam have any plans to fix the app so that it works as smoothly as a web-browser does?

Yea its a shame that when we invest so much we get so little back.... I have almost 300 games and i agree, the app is terrible

Where are all the Valve shills? Are they stuck in 2010 still? A few hours seems a little long for a topic like this to go undefended.

I agree though, Steam is pap.

The app is fine IMO although if the timing on my phone or PC is out the Steam Guard stops working, which is annoying. Steam in general I dislike, but the app isn't something I have a problem with.

The web site and PC and mobile apps have been horrible for years. In fact... can't remember if they've ever been any good.

Yea im ashamed to say ive only played about 50% of them......

My usual is install, play for a bit, get bored and uninstall.
Just keep my main games I play installed

I quite like the Steam PC app. For me, it works seamlessly and it is basic and to the point. I don't need frills, I just need a list of my games.

[Edit] But then I only purchase a new game once a month or so, so even if it is a little slow, I never notice

Really? I don't have any issues with Steam on PC, browser or phone :/ It's great IMO.

Never had a problem with the app mayself. The only time its slow and janky for me is when there's a sale.
