Why is this a draw?

Er, swearing?

And I think it's to do with if you've only the King left, he only has to live for a certain amount of moves before a game's drawn.
 
Its stalemate because there is no where the opposition can move their king so no way for them to take their move.

All wrong. It's a stalemate.

Basically (assuming it's black's move), the black king can't move anywhere. But it's not currently in check, so it's not a checkmate. So it's a stalemate and thus a draw. That rule is there as an incentive for a player with only a king left to keep playing - he might get a draw instead of a loss.

*edit: when I said all wrong, nobody had said stalemate yet...
