we've had people lately tell us they aren't getting emails from us, even in their spam folder they can't find them, which is usually where they end up.

anyone know why this might be? we've had our hosting company check years before about the reputation of our email accounts and they all come back fine.

Do an MX lookup, use MXToolbox to start to pinpoint problems.

MXToolbox should start the ball rolling on where the problem is. Maybe send an email from another account then trace it that way.

It’s obveously been blocked somewhere down the line. It’s either this end filter or that end filter. Possibly in between.

The problem might be with the email providers they are using as I know some will just do a total block (meaning that emails won't get through to the sender, not even to their spam folder) on certain addresses or domains if they get enough spam complaints.

It's always the dastardly important emails asking people to do stuff that are never received. Free birthday cake ones always go through.

tell me about it. i get told my server has been hacked any to wire 0.5 btc to a wallet about 5 times a day, on top of the rest of the junk. that all gets through of course. but my email confirming a booking, nah.

Thabks will do.

Apparently the ip we were sending from had a low score so we now have a static ip. Hopefully that should improve.

We also didn't sent email visa our contact form with smtp authentication so will get that done too

You'll want to setup a reverse dns entry for your static ip (likely your isp will need to do this), its not vital but it adds to your trustworthiness as far as spam detections go!
