ok have a very very annoying problem which i cannot figure out the possible reason as to why.

Basically i do work for a company from home, updating products on the companies site, updating the blog etc.

For some reason all day long i am losing connection to the server (and only the server, google etc still all work fine) for the company and i can't get it back unless i wait a random time, could be 20 minutes could be 5, or i simply disable and re-enable my network card.

On any other pc in my house i can still connect so this is only happening to my pc.

One reason that this could be happening is that someone higher up in this company that will most likely be losing a lot of work to me is unhappy about it. as he also owns the company that provides the hosting he could be watching for someone to access certain pages and do certain tasks that only i would and then block me.

it sounds stupid but i figured this could be the reason why disabling and re-enabling my network card allows me access for however long again as any way the server identified me before has been changed.

I have very little information in this field so that suggestion may sound stupid bit i really can't understand why i'd be losing connection to this server and only this server.

I want to try and work on another pc and see if i eventually loose access as at the moment i only know for sure it happens on my pc and no one elses.

can anyone suggest anything i could do to check why this is happening?

I know that the server is still up as i check other pc's in the house and other people online and they can still all get access. :(

Do you use wireless at home?

Maybe the connection has a blip which isn't noticeable in your browser, but it to that connection..

we have wireless but i don't use it, i'm all wired up to the router :)

Maybe a loose connection :p

Seriously... NIC drivers up to date?

dang silly me, was in a rush to get it posted last night

only just updated the driver a couple of weeks back and this has been happening for a few months now

How do you connect to the server?
by going to the owners website/sub domains in a browser. sorry if that sounds stupid can't think of any other way to describe it :p i have checked other browsers to check it isn't just firefox but they all lose it

i will check next time when it goes if i can still send/receive emails from the account i have with them but irrc i can't. but then saying that am i right in thinking emails and websites are often on different servers to help spread the load any way so if emails worked when i couldn't get access to the site this woudn't proove anything?
