I'm curious. I'm moving back to my old flat and need to do something about my movie audio. I have a lovely Panasonic GT60 which is currently paired with my Dad's Onkyo amp and 2.0 speakers which sound great but still lacking clarity of speech in movies.
We're moving back to a smaller flat so 5.1 is out of the question but here remains the question.. It seems to be a common theme that a centre speaker is recommended to help with clarity of speech yet nobody really seems to have one? 2.1 is stereo with a sub, right? 5.1 is two fronts, two rears and a sub. Still no centre. How come no-one does it? Am I barking up the wrong tree?
To take back to the flat I have an old Marantz stereo amp and Gale floorstanders which I've loved for music over the years but won't fit next to the TV. Trying to decide what to do, I couldn't bear in-built audio from the TV again..
