Is it me? I am wanting a new radio / CD that'll play MP3's for my truck, and i can't find a single 24 volt set on Ebay at all... Not sure how I'd use a 24V to 12V voltage changer as the modern sets all seem to need a permanent and an ignition switched feed. I can't feed the output of a 12volt dropper through the ignition switch. Cheers.

like you said get a convertor of some kind, then other options would be a very small 12v regulator to give your switched feed... i doubt much current is drawn.

or maybe get away with just linking the 12v main power and switch power then use on / off button on radio when you leave truck. (though you always have worry of leaving it on by accident)

or another idea, how about your switched 24v, connect to a little relay and switch 12v into your stereo :)

or... it's a possibility that 24v onto the switched input would work... but things could also explode who knows lol

Tried searching for Clarion? I ask as my Scania R420 has an MP3 / CD player that obviously runs 24V.

Failing that, speak to a Scania Dealer - Volvo also offer MP3 players as OEM kit.

Alas, you won't be paying e-bay prices.
