Why no MOT reminder?

You get a reminder about your tax and insurance renewal. So why not when your MOT is about to expire?

Because insurance is a service you've bought which is running out and an MOT isn't. Sending reminders would cost taxpayers money and tbh its hardly needed, your MOT is the same time every year and you get a month of time before to sort it :p

i was shockingly driving around for 6 months without an MOT, it was due to changing car, and thinking the MOT was still done at the same time as my old car, crossed memory wires/brain fart...
anyway, take it for its mot in april, and the tester says, you do realise your mot expired in novemeber!!! opps

Yeah the new certificates are crap.

Now it's all electronic based you would think they could just use email reminders.

I used an MOT centre in Cannock, not a garage but a pure MOT centre and the issue I have is getting them to stop reminding me!

Pfft.

As soon as my MOT is up for renewal again I will require an email reminder from you please Mr Fox. :D

I had to use a Halfords garage place once for a last minute MOT and they spam me every year since with reminders.

I had to tax, MOT and insure my car when I bought it. I get the annual service done at the same time too. Can't wait for March to come around again :(
