Is it me or as Asus super glued the metal plate that gose on the other side of the mobo and holds the heatsink holder inplace on the A8N32-SLI Deluxe? It means being heavy handed to get it off so I just left it on and used the retail heatsink and fan as I was worrying about using to much force then ending up braking something.

Now I'm going to struggle to find a good heatsink and fan if I can't remove it.

Use a hair dryer to heat it (make sure motherboard is earthed), and gently wobble it free.

Some people say you can take it off with a plastic knife, id hair dryer it just a tad first though. Remember, its a metal plate though so it heats up quite hot which is bad cause you dont want to cause damage. For my Zalman my choices were either to file the black guide down a bit so the heatsink sat lower, or just not use the guide at all. Thats slightly more risky because the HSF has less support but I dont move my pc about much and it seems to be stable enough (and has been for 1 or 2 years now)

I used a Big Typhoon so the back plate is needed, however when I removed the plastic support from the front and placed the motherboard in the case the plate just dropped of the back, I had to take it out again and fit outside the case. The plate was held on the back by the tight fitting screwthreads that push through the 2 motherboard holes it was not glued.
