Why only 2mb?

I have signed up to Virgin BB, i have the 20mb connection, yet when i download torrents it never goes above 2 mb,

I dont think this is due to a slow connection as if i have my newsserver downloading too it does not affect the speed of the torrent manager.

So to recap
I have 20mb DSL Broadband

My torrent manager uTorrent maxes at 227-250kB/s
my newsreader Xnews can download at highspeed (im not sure of the speed but its fast) and this does not impact the torrents.

Could someone please explain why this is.

Depends on the torrent. I downloaded something this morning that averaged ~800KB/s.

the speeds are good, it just maxes at 2mb, say i have 2 downloading at 1mb each if i shut one down the other jumps to 2mb.

are you saying its downloading at 2mb/s ? or 240kb/s ?

If it is then thats about right for a 20mb connection.

at this moment 229.4kB/s

i thought that was 2mb not 20.

Yea thats 2mbit, just wasn't clear in the way you were explaining it.

Ports forwarded properly?

what does www.speedtest.net say your connection is?

Its your torrent thats not setup properly then. Either that or there are few seeds.

it was me not the service.

What are you getting now on the torrents? (speed wise)
