Why rubbish max download speeds?

Just checked bt max dsl line checker and it says i can get a download speed of 1.5mb iam currently stuck on 1mb :eek:

my atten is 58 and noise at 12 is 1.5mb a realistic figure for me?

With those stats i would say yes, maybe a tiny bit higher, but sounds about right.

Plugging your modem in to the master socket may get you a bit more SNR if you're running on some extension cables, but otherwise it's all up to BT.

Didn't have any effect for me. I'm considering a socket in the loft next to the junction box, but I'm not sure it'll have much effect for the better.

My stats are similar to the OP, but SNR is slightly higher at 16dB, hoping for abour 2meg.
