Why should i overclock & The risks.

Hey all, I currently have this setup

E6300 @ Stock
DS4 with F8
2GB (2x1GB) CorsairTwinX XMS2 Dominator
200gb hd
Antec 900 (all fans on low)
Zalman 9500
Tagon 500w
ATI X1600 PRO(soon changing)

Basicly, is it worth overclocking it. Will i see a big diffrence? Ect. What sort of clock can i expect to get out of it. If i overclocked it would it be able to last me 1yr or so or would the CPU ect die? I would run it stable. When i had it on load for 4hrs it never went over 26c on the CPU the case is around 30c at that point.

So can you all suggest what i should do.

It looks like i need to do some clocking then? This is my first intec i overclocked my old one but thats it.. So i am a bit of a noob at it.. I am on vista. I updated the bios to F8.. So where do i start with this mobo?

would that be stable.. and how long when there overclocked like that do they usaly last?

ah thats all good then. I will read up and post some results back tomorrow! Time to tidy all cables first. Should help airflow even though case is really cool!

Well i am going to wait till i got a fully working GFX sorted then i can start the clocking! My X1600 packed up!

yeah i have already had it running at 2.9ghz on volts ect. it has loads more to play with its back at stock till i get a new grapics card. then the real run can come. I had it stable. One thing i did't get was it says in that DS3/4 guide when your in the bios press CTRL+F1 and it will bring some menu up. that did't work. But as i was putting the FSB up the memory went up with it. is that ok or do i have to set it?

On and on cooling when i left it at 100% load temps were 35c @2.9ghz Is that good?

I used Orthos and left it for about a hour. I then used speedfan along with TAT.. TAT was giving higher readings but still not over 45c. I go by speedfan because its the same what it says in bios.. I want to get one of those little readers you put inside the pc and it has a little LCD and tells you i fogotten the name of them.
 
Yeah my DS4 blown on stock everything.. so tomorrow i am going to RMA it.. When i get a new one.. I will get clocking!
