I was looking to buy a GTX 470 off ocuk next week as they're at a nice price point now.

I know however that GTX 475 is just around the corner and that it will have 1gb on board mem, with a faster standard core clock.

What I want to know is, is there gonna be more than 10% performance difference or will it be like GTX 280/285 situation, I got my GTX280 for £230 and i'd do it all again.

Especially as I intend to have the 470 under water and oc'd till it bleeds:D

wait or not to wait, I think the 470 oc'd will hold its own fine?

No offence but how the **** are we suppose to know how good GTX 475 turns out to be? I'd imagine it will be the case as with GeForce 465/460 1GB. Similar performance in most tasks but much more efficient GPU with a lot of overclocking headroom, quieter cooler, smaller factor, more sexy and appealing and possibly with better SLI scaling. It will probably overclock beyond 480 levels and will be priced lowly because of the lower production cost. I say £250 and all benefits over 470.

Buys now coz the 475 if it hits will be well more expensive than the cheapest 470 you can get now, there will not much between the two card performance wise but the 475 will run cooler and consume less power.

Don't hold your breath, there's only rumours of the GTX475 and 485 and there from "Kitguru" and Fudzilla but surely Nvidia must have a plan in the pipe to deal with the up and coming 6000 series.

when 475 does come out 470s will go for peanuts
the 460s are reducing in price as GF104 production ramps up
470 price is too high at the moment due to GF100 production ramping down
its xmas soon - I would am going to wait and grab a bargain or a 475

It really isn't clear whether or not a GTX475 is in the wings, sure Nvidia could release one, but whether they do, and when is not clear. It's possible they may wait until the 470s have cleared out.

just get the 470, and don't bother water cooling it as it gives little to no advantage when it comes to overclocking the 470's

It says you have a 470 in your sig are you going to SLI ?

I'd just get the GTX470 considering the price they are right now, unless 3D movies are something that interests you in which case wait.
The GF100 doesn't support HDMI 1.4a, but the later release GF104/106/108 parts do.

^ there isn't any reason to think the 475 will be anything other than GF100 so I wouldn't put my money on it having HDMI 1.4a
