I don't have a mac but I can see why people buy them. If you don't need the flexibility of a PC and don't play many games but are looking for something stylish which works, there is nothing wrong with a mac.

From the design point of view, why are some people more than happy to pay a high premium for a nice PC case? Not much difference really.

Because it is a locked platform and so Apple can charge what they feel the market will bear and still give them maximum profits. If you want the Apple OS then you are locked in to their hardware, so effectively a lack of competition in that particular niche.

Again Mac's aren't for games. Buying one for that purpose is stupid. That res is great for photo devs, image editors, video editors etc. The clientèle Mac's are aimed at.

Not really sure what your issue is, do you actually want a Mac but don't want to pay their prices or do you not want a Mac at all?
