I pre-ordered a Zephyrus G15 recently and, after reading reviews and looking on Reddit and various other places, it would seem that the version of the RTX 3070-equipped one that we're getting here is equipped with the Ryzen-7 5800HS rather than the Ryzen-9 5900HS that they're getting over in the states.

Does anyone know what the deal is with this? Why are we getting shafted with (slightly) inferior CPUs when the price that we're being charged is objectively much higher; £1899 vs $1799 in the US, which translates as roughly $2600 at the current exchange rate!? It feels like a bit of a slap in the face.

Yes we are being shafted on price a little but The $1799 price won't include taxes because every US state has a different sales tax % to add on top, so you can't just convert UK £ retail prices back to $ because our price includes VAT @ 20%.

$1799 to £ would be calculated as;

$1799 = £1284 @ $1.4 to the £ Then add our 20% vat = £1540 so they should be around £1600 at the current exchange rate, but I assume current stock was bought at a lower rate a month or so back when they secured stock coupled with the fact that shipping costs have increased by a massive amount (from around $2500 to up to $10000) means it would have cost a lot more for the container space to get them here, which is why we are seeing them at £1800 rather than £1600
