Why there is no news on non-ref R290 yet?

Today is the GTX780TI release date, instantly I can see Gibbo posting non-ref GTX780TI price / ETA etc. However there is still no news on 290 / 290X non ref version yet? Whats AMD / ASUS/MSI etc thinking...?

it won't be the partners, it'll be AMD holding them back

seeing as the 780ti is basically the same board and chip as the 780, the same coolers work so it was a much simpler job for them

is this what AMD likes to do? Do not release any info for non-ref card? if so normally how long will it take to release non-ref card? struggling between 780 and 290...

They should start appearing by the end of the month. It's a totally new design, so they can't just stick 7970 coolers on it.

I'd be surprised if coolers needed much tweaking from 3rd party ones from 7970 era

And I would have thought partners would have got reference cards quite a while ago so I just wonder if they are being held back

Perhaps they are hoping people will "double dip " so to speak

Ek waterblocks have posted on thier site that the 780 blocks do not fit the 780ti. I guess it will be the same for the other coolers
