Why was my thread 'Looking For RTX3080/3090 On OcUk??' Closed??

I have just seen this at the bottom of the closed thread '(You have insufficient privileges to reply here.)' Can someone explain what this actually means, what privileges do I need??????

Weird. I've been banned for no reason before, without warning and no response when I contacted them. It's the way some people act online when given a bit of power. Maybe there was a reason this time for you but I can't see one after reading the thread and again no reason given lol. It looks like nobody can reply there.

Very strange, as I can create another thread and reply in the new thread etc. Strange it was closed and locked for no reason. I don't think I broke any forum rules etc!?
 
The truth hurts them. Ocuk is one of the worst sites ive seen with regards to availability of any cards. Ive seen constant supply of 30 series and 6000 series on other sites but zero on here for ages.
 
I don't know why it's such an issue as as soon as they actually decide to sale the stock they're sitting on it will go like hot cakes. I don't understand what they're worried about. As for scalping. Most of the main retailers are doing it not just them.

I do agree with you. The thing is there are hundreds of people waiting for cards in queues, and quite rightly, any cards coming in should go to them. However, that means there are literally no cards for sale to anyone else. So what's the point in actually coming to the site to look, as there aren't any for sale and probably won't be for many months!?

And that's why you get banned or locked for talking about the other options God forbid but I guess that's why they think they will lose out but discussion or not. They will lose out to people who haven't preordered here if stock is elsewhere.

You get suspended for discussing competitors because that's the house rules which you read didn't you.

The forum is paid for by the OCUK shop and mostly it is not used for talking about computers.

Nevertheless a rule since the dawn of time is you don't advertise ocuk competitors using the ocuk forum.

Yes the house rules which I stated. Which ever way you type it. It's the same. Also I can't see where this guy broke the rules on his own thread. I on the other hand got suspended for no reason a while ago.

I buy nearly all my PC hardware from here and have done for sometime. However, I don't really want to join a queue of hundreds and wait for months on end, hoping to actually get a physical card in my hand. There are people who have said they have been waiting since 2 hours in on release day, with no end in sight........

I know its the same everywhere with what is happening in the world and bots and scalpers haven't helped either, but looking elsewhere, is the only option I see, for a loyal customer of OcUk, like myself to do now?

Thanks rn2....I didn't mention any other competitors, I said other websites, or look elswhere......so you can't say other websites or look elsewhere now?

Search for a channel called PartAlert on discord then setup what you are looking for, job done. That's that how i got my 3090 with in 2 days of keeping an eye on it but it's easier looking for a 3090 when 90% of people aren't willing to paying that much for a gpu.

There are already 3080 and a 3090 threads pinned to the top where OCUK staff keep us updated as and when it happens.

There have been lots and lots of threads asking about 3080/3090 stock situation which have either been deleted or locked like yours during the last few months. OCUK staff can't be expected to keep all those threads updated with any news so they're trying to concentrate on the two pinned at the top and any duplicate threads get locked/removed.

Thats bad moderation, every forum with a good moderator will tell you the reason and there is always a procees of appeal. I have seen lolz group play with mods that are ego driven and just ban so they dont have to do any work. The lolz group will pick members of the forum to attack and then argue with that one person so the weak mods will ban them. They then try to be friends with the mods. Then the random no reason bans happen. Argue with the special group and get a ban. No appeal or reason. So bans without reason are always a sign of a very weak moderator. Its unprofessional and normally goes hand in hand with ignored appeals. Some mods get so bad they just ban people that they dont agree with. Ban everyone if an argument happens in a thread, victim and perpetrator. Ignore people having a go at one person and focusing on them. People postings a flood of non sense in one thread to start a flame. Mod bans everyone. Victim and perpetrator alike. Not realising the idea is to get customers and normal uses baned. Get customers to cancel orders. The groups more often have 10-15 accounts. The normal people 1. So the mod basically helps the groups take over, by banning everyone else. With other people then stopping posting.

Its not worth arguing with the mod. I have tried appeals and have been ignore or they look into it.

Its always the same one, forum member gets focused and attacked by a group. Hounded with questions or false arguments. The forum mod then bans. No reason given. Happens on every forum. Not allowed to debate or fight back.

Its meams the mod closed your thread and them never bothered to tell you why. Thus you foolishly open a new thread and could then be banned or sanctioned. A mod should always imform some about why an action was taken. That way you wont open a new thread.
